Come quickly Lord...come!

Don't you ever get in the habit of living each week hoping for Friday to come. I know I do. Just think what if God only made Friday's the one day of the week?!!?? I think there is a purpose for everyday of the week. Obviously God created everything in seven days. The significance of the number seven is all throughout the Bible. Seven days in a week, seven churches stated in the book of Revelation, the seven sealed scroll, the seven trumpets, the seven bowls of wrath spoken about in Revelation. Jacob served seven years for Leah and seven years for Rachel. Egypt had seven years of plenty and seven years of famine. The New Testament has the seven loaves and fishes; seven devils exorcised from Mary Magdalene; forgiveness seventy times seven. Obviously as Christians we will not understand everything God does or the purpose He has in certain things. I think we should be thankful for all seven days. Each day is new and full of His mercy again. I think of it like this, each day is a new opportunity for some one to open their heart to God and to teach His children something new and fresh. Each day is also a new day to serve God and do something to serve others. When we do that we show God that we love HIM. Everything must be done out of love. God has been teaching me these past days that when I get up each morning am I living for God or allowing the devil to keep me in chains of doubt, unworthiness and fear? Satan knows that he can never have my heart, because it is God's forever and ever. he will try to do everything he can to torment me in the process though. Revelation 19:12-13 says " His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself." When I read that I thought how deep is the heart of God. God knows things that we will never know on this earth. Shouldn't that motivate us to seek God more and to say "God, come quickly. I want to see these things." No one will ever understand God completely. We must have FAITH. We must not be silent about God. We have to tell others about HIM and that HE is coming quickly! Live for God today and say the hell with the devil. I AM FREE!

A new season...

Being a mother has been teaching me so many things. Just today I was thinking how much our relationship with our children reflects our relationship with Christ. God was showing me how everything a baby needs depends on   their parents. They are helpless, depending on you to get the job done. Just as we need to have patience with our children and show them our love and the love of Christ, so Christ has patience and love for us that never ends. When I am practicing patience I am really practicing the love of God towards myself and others. Just think, what if God had no patience with us and just said "forget about them, they will never learn and cannot be taught." Where would we be? We would be lost and so alone. Thankfully God does have patience and is always there waiting for us to call upon His name. Just as children cry and throw fits, so do we. We come before the Lord sulking and wondering why we didn't get what we want. Like a parent has to discipline their child and teach them what is acceptable behavior and what is not, so God disciplines His children. Think about it, God must discipline us to show us what is acceptable in His sight and what is not. Just as a parent disciplines their child out of love, God disciplines us because He truly loves us and is jealous for us. He is there all the time. In every season of our life God is there teaching us and molding us. Whatever season you are going through in your life, whether it be lack of patience, worry, sickness, sadness. Turn to the one and only God who heals our brokenness and turns it into His Glory. Fall is coming soon, a perfect time to grow in patience and love.
